The Dillinger Escape Plan was an American metalcore band formed in 1997 in Morris Plains, New Jersey. The band's music is a complex fusion of extreme metal, hardcore, and progressive rock. Known for their intense live performances and pioneering style, they became influential in the metal scene until their disbandment in 2017.
